In June I will have been in Mallorca for 7 years. Catapulted out of my old life into the middle of a new, completely foreign one.
The plan was not to stay here.
In fact, I had no plan at all!
I don't want to tell the story of 2014 here, but I definitely want to mention the places and, with them, the people who were important to me at the time. I was looking for a place to try out standup paddling, and a friend at the time, and now a very dear friend, Carde, told me to check out Bonaona in Can Pastilla.
I had no idea how central and important this place would be for me to this day!
Bonaona not only means "good wave", it also means "good energy". The name of the surf bar or surf school couldn't be more fitting - the ambience is incomparable!
Between the turquoise chairs and the cool chillout designed with a lot of love for surfer style, I have already made so many wonderful contacts and met really good friends. Since, apart from an international crowd, a lot of locals also meet here, it has always been the perfect place for me to put my Spanish into practice, combined with very special people, whom this place probably brings together completely according to the law of attraction.
The three siblings Christina, Fran and Victor, or rather the wonderful girls behind the bar, not only conjure up the best coffee for me, they also always surprise with new delicacies fresh from mum's Mallorcan kitchen! If you want to enjoy an excellent tortilla espanola, don't be late, because everyone knows that here: the tortilla is in demand!
Depending on the current situation, you could or can find all kinds of sporting offers such as surfboard rental, SUP and surfing courses, bicycles, kayaks, etc..
It is definitely worthwhile to find out about the current situation. Without a doubt, Bonaona is one of the island's "magic places".
